Marketing and Events Coordinator

The role will involve digital marketing, website administration, content development, copywriting, email marketing, and events.

The Role: NMITE seeks a dynamic Marketing and Events Coordinator to play a pivotal role in promoting the institution, attracting future students, and engaging with diverse audiences. This individual will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager to coordinate campaigns and facilitate the successful delivery of student recruitment events, fostering strong working relationships across departments. The role will involve digital marketing, website administration, content development, copywriting, email marketing, and events.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Developing and implementing marketing campaigns to drive student recruitment, increase brand awareness, and promote university initiatives, working under the leadership of the Marketing and Communications Manager.
  • Supporting and enhancing NMITE’s digital channels across platforms, including the website and external profiles.
  • Coordinating, delivering and evaluating various NMITE events, including open days, campus visits, taster days and other on-campus events.
  • Overseeing the schedule of external student recruitment events, ensuring staff and students are prepared, briefed and able to represent NMITE effectively. To frequently attend and represent NMITE at these events.
  • Supporting with planning, executing and monitoring email marketing campaigns to nurture leads and disseminate important information to prospective students, current students, and other stakeholders using the appropriate systems.
  • Develop compelling and engaging content utilising strong copywriting skills to promote the NMITE brand and values.
  • Taking responsibility for logistical arrangements relating to open days and other on-campus events, including liaison with external and internal suppliers and service providers
  • Managing event budgets, timelines, and post-event evaluations to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Supervising the work of Student Ambassadors, making decisions in accordance with established policy and procedures, where appropriate
  • Representing NMITE at external events like HE and careers fairs, including preparing and delivering presentations.
  • Using the CRM system to manage data and support conversion of enquiries through to the next stage in their journey through identifying opportunities and trends, e.g. conversion from a degree enquiry to an application.
  • Staying up to date with industry and higher education sector trends and best practices to bring new ideas and strategies to the team

You'll be a great fit if:

  • You have previous experience in marketing and events coordination.
  • You're skilled at utilising CRM systems to manage data and support lead conversion by identifying opportunities and trends.
  • You have experience supporting the management and implementation of multi-channel campaigns targeting various audiences.
  • You're enthusiastic about supporting the development and enhancement of NMITE's digital channels, including the website.
  • You have experience in data analysis, interpreting complex information, and identifying trends to inform decision-making.
  • Building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer experiences are priorities for you.
  • You possess excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • You're known for your resourcefulness and ability to overcome challenges creatively.
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • You can manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You're proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with event management software.
  • You're passionate about contributing to the success of NMITE's marketing and events initiatives.
  • You're comfortable representing NMITE at external events such as HE and careers fairs, including preparing and delivering presentations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to a minimum of Higher National Certificate (HNC) level or demonstrate equivalent experience – ideally within marketing and events.
  • Experience working in marketing with a focus on events and/or marketing communications.
  • Good knowledge of digital channels and content creation
  • Demonstrable experience in event coordination. 
  • Good knowledge of CRM systems and email platforms (such as Mailchimp)
  • Design experience, such as Adobe, is desirable.
  • Previous HE experience is desirable.
  • UK Driving license is essential for this role.
