An empowering event that celebrates International Women's Day, ‘Take the Leap’ will take place in Hereford on 9th March 2024, with fun and informative events honouring this year’s IWD theme of ‘Inspire Inclusion’.
Organisers, Herefordshire Women’s Equality Group (HWEG) and West Mercia Women’s Aid (WMWA) are inviting members of the public to join them at NMITE university’s Skylon Campus, at Rotherwas in Herefordshire, for a few hours that focus on inclusion, inspiration and learning.
Kicking off the free event, guests will be welcomed with hot teas and coffees, setting the stage for engaging conversations. Attendees can explore various activities throughout the day, including guided tours, fun workshops and informative stalls, and people can drop in at any time throughout the event..
Speakers will share insights on the theme of inclusivity. Expect to hear from NMITE's Women in STEM Society, delving into the importance of diversity in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Rebecca Antrim will be discussing the unique experiences of neurodivergent women and exploring how this shapes their identity, health, and wellbeing.
Following the enlightening talks, indulge in a delightful spread of coffee and cake, accompanied by the West Mercia Women’s Aid Choir, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for further discussion and reflection and organisers are delighted to welcome the Mayor of Hereford, Jacqui Carwardine to close the event.
Amber Coates from WMWA explains, “We hope this event will leave you inspired and empowered to take on new challenges and champion inclusivity in all aspects of life. Don't miss your chance to ‘Take the Leap’ and celebrate the remarkable achievements of women, while paving the way for a more inclusive future.”
