Joining NMITE from across the pond, Steve Bertasso brings a wealth of experience from the industry to the classroom. Throughout his 25 years in the industry, he focused on process improvement, strategy implementation, research, development, and training. His resume includes project management, purchasing, quantity surveying, and managerial experience in all aspects of the built environment with companies large and small across many markets and regions. Since 2009, his work as an independent consultant has allowed him to assist clients in creating and implementing better business solutions. He developed new estimating systems, created cost-effective, sustainable building programs, managed projects across various industries, and assisted with talent development.


These experiences led to several invitations to participate as a featured speaker at multiple industry conferences on green building, LEAN process implementation, and marketing strategies.  Steve graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He expounded on his education by obtaining a Master of Business Administration degree in Sustainability from Lipscomb University in 2010. Steve also served as an Assistant Professor of Construction Management at Middle Tennessee State University and an Adjunct Professor at Utah Valley University. Steve joins NMITE to lead the Timber TED courses and as an instructor for the BSc in Sustainable Built Environments.
