Quality Assurance Coordinator

Do you care deeply about academic quality, good governance, and making systems work well for students and staff?

If so, you could be a great fit for NMITE.
NMITE is an innovative higher education provider, rethinking engineering and technology education to make a positive regional, national and global impact. As we continue to grow and mature as an institution, robust and thoughtful quality assurance and governance processes are central to everything we do.

We are now seeking a Quality Assurance Co-ordinator to join our Quality Assurance and Governance team and play a key role in supporting the delivery, oversight and enhancement of NMITE’s academic standards and quality processes.

Who are we?
NMITE is a UK-based higher education provider founded to reimagine how engineering and technology education is delivered. We combine rigorous academic standards with an interdisciplinary, human-centred and project-based approach to learning. Our first cohort graduated in 2025, and we continue to build a distinctive institution grounded in creativity, inclusion and real-world impact.

As a young and ambitious organisation, NMITE values people who can balance innovation with good governance, and who take pride in doing things well.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a detail-oriented, organised and collaborative Quality Assurance Co-ordinator to support the successful operation of NMITE’s quality assurance and academic governance framework.

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will work closely with colleagues across academic and professional services teams to ensure policies, processes and systems operate effectively, consistently and in line with regulatory expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in HE or FE quality assurance or registry functions who wants to make a visible contribution in a growing institution.

Responsibilities of the Role

Supporting Quality Assurance and Academic Standards

  • Support the Quality Assurance Manager in the delivery of NMITE’s internal quality assurance processes, including programme development, annual monitoring and external examiner arrangements.
  • Review and process programme and module change requests in line with NMITE policy, ensuring programme and module specifications remain accurate and up to date.
  • Provide ongoing support to Programme Leaders throughout the academic year, helping to ensure the smooth operation of the academic quality lifecycle.
  • Support the scheduling and administration of assessment and mark verification processes.
  • Maintain accurate student records relating to assessment, modules and awards, and oversee systems for the retention of student work.

Academic Governance and Committee Support

  • Act as secretary to academic governance committees, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and papers, taking accurate minutes and following up agreed actions.
  • Prepare reports and papers on academic quality and standards as required.
  • Manage Assessment Board administration, including production of committee papers and associated reports.

Regulatory and Enhancement Activity

  • Support NMITE’s preparation for externally facing quality and regulatory activity, including Degree Awarding Powers reporting, professional accreditation and the Teaching Excellence Framework.
  • Support quality assurance processes relating to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provision.
  • Contribute to the development, review and enhancement of NMITE policies and procedures.

Working as Part of the Quality Team

  • Work flexibly and collaboratively as part of the Quality Assurance and Governance team, contributing to wider projects, initiatives and continuous improvement activity as required.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • At least three years’ experience in a registry, quality assurance or similar role within HE or FE.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of servicing committees, including scheduling meetings and producing clear, accurate minutes and reports.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when working with data and records.
  • Numerate, with confidence in handling and analysing data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Experience using student information systems or similar database platforms.
  • Understanding of the higher education sector and current regulatory and policy developments.

Our Values & Behaviours

NMITE aims to be a game changer. Its staff must be able to balance the need to create a well-run, self-critical institution where good governance and rigorous quality controls are in place, with the need to test (and push) the boundaries of existing practice to create new approaches to engineering education. The way we work together is crucial to this mission and our values and behaviours must reflect this.

Our values:

  • Grit and determination. We will be determined in everything we do, demonstrating the staying power needed to see things through.
  • Inclusive. We will respect every individual and every voice will be equally important. We will have a community of students learning with people from a variety of backgrounds and our staff team will be equally diverse.
  • Creative and learning. We will test the boundaries of existing practice and find new ways of doing things. We will always seek to justify the “new” in our title. We will try new things with humility, accepting mistakes and learning from them. We will always seek to learn from experiences by sharing openly what went well and what went wrong.
  • Honest. We will always be courteous and respectful but also honest and straightforward when dealing with each other. We will not hide from uncomfortable truths and staff will be provided with the information they seek to do their jobs and to be well informed about our progress.
  • Curious. We will encourage scrutiny from each other and welcome questions from any colleagues – whoever they are and whatever their role. Communication will always be assumed to be a two-way process. Colleagues should always ask for information they feel they need that is not being provided and we will always listen to each other.
  • Aligned. We will always work to advance the institution’s mission and its core aims, whatever our role. We will challenge work that does not align with our mission.

Our Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £28,645 plus a benefits package including:

  • Pension scheme
  • Life assurance
  • 30 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays & closure days)
  • Additional day off for your Birthday
  • Flexible working arrangements
