Tim Belden is an accomplished Associate Professor of Digital Engineering, bringing a wealth of experience from both the civil engineering and heritage sectors. With over 20 years in the industry, Tim has extensive expertise in managing complex engineering projects, ranging from large-scale civil infrastructure to specialised heritage conservation. His career includes overseeing projects up to £16 million, with responsibilities spanning inception, design, contract management, and on-site supervision. Notably, Tim has worked on significant coastal protection works, drainage and flood alleviation projects, and environmental enhancement schemes, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.

Tim leverages his deep knowledge of digital technologies and engineering to advance research and teaching at NMITE. His work focuses on the integration of programming and digital tools in engineering, contributing to the development of cutting-edge projects, including the Centre for Advanced Timber Technology. Tim's expertise in timber engineering and heritage conservation enriches their research and teaching, allowing him to offer unique insights into the application of digital technologies in both contemporary and historical contexts.
