NMITE diverted its academic staff with engineering and manufacturing backgrounds into the production of PPE to support the local response and converted its administration offices into a makeshift factory and partnered with local businesses.

As an engineer, I find Ada’s flying horse captivating and inspiring. At their best, engineers rely on imagination, empathy, creativity, vision and readiness for change - capabilities that come from an understanding of what it is to be human rather than an overly narrow devotion to maths and science.
