Dr. Joseph Oyekale is an Associate Professor at NMITE, specialising in Mechanical Engineering. With a distinguished academic background, he earned his B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees with first-class honours and distinction from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH). His extensive research experience includes earning a Ph.D. and Doctor Europaeus in Industrial Engineering (Systems for Energy and the Environment pathway) through international collaborations with the University of Cagliari and the University of Bayreuth. Joseph's core research interests lie in the conceptual development and optimisation of systems and materials for sustainable energy and the built environment, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence techniques.
Joseph served through the ranks up to Associate Professor (Reader) at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE), Nigeria, and is recognised for his impactful research and teaching in thermo-fluid and energy engineering. To remain current with recent developments in the state-of-the-art sustainable energy field, he is involved in international research involving FUPRE and other renowned institutions in Italy, Belgium, Morocco, Romania and South Africa. His academic fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) further enriched his expertise, bringing cutting-edge pedagogical approaches to NMITE. Joseph's commitment to advancing engineering education and research is evident in his numerous publications and active contributions to the field, as well as his dedication to mentoring students and driving innovative solutions for energy sustainability.
