Disability services

Disability Services are part of the Student Services Team at NMITE.

Student Services provide advice, information and support to disabled students including those with a specific learning difference or a long term health condition (including mental health conditions).

Working in partnership with students and other relevant agencies allows us to remove barriers to education. Please advise us as early as possible in your application process if you require any type of support. Disclosing a need for support will not affect your application to study at NMITE.

Reasonable adjustments

  • Assessment adjustments
  • ASK Centre
  • NMITE Laptop
  • Accommodation adaptions
  • Personal Tutoring

Reasonable adjustments are changes or accommodations put in place to ensure you have equal access to a supportive learning environment and assessments.

Reasonable adjustments are also available for students who might not consider themselves to have a disability but who nevertheless would benefit from additional support due to an ongoing medical or mental health condition.

Disabled Student Allowance

If eligible, you can receive DSA support to cover study related costs you may have because of a mental health condition, long-term illness or disability.  This can include Study Skills Support Workers, assistive technology, equipment and training.

DSA is linked to the Student Finance package but is not means tested, it does not require you to have a tuition fee or maintenance loan.
