The New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE) announces two new bursaries aimed at helping individuals in Herefordshire and those wanting to change university course. Each bursary provides up to £10,000 in financial support to students enrolling on NMITE’s BEng Integrated Engineering degree programme, beginning in January 2025.
The NMITE Herefordshire Career Switcher Bursary is designed for residents of Herefordshire who are eager to move into engineering from different professional backgrounds. This bursary specifically supports local talent, providing critical financial aid to those seeking a transformative career shift. This initiative highlights NMITE's commitment to opening pathways into engineering for those looking to transition from other professions or enhance their qualifications.
Similarly, the NMITE Switcher Bursary is tailored for students transferring from another higher education institution, an apprenticeship, or those seeking to supplement their existing engineering qualifications. It helps individuals who want to make this educational transition from another degree started in September 2024. The accelerated nature of NMITE’s BEng for students joining in January 2025 means that they stay on track and graduate at the same time as those who started in September.

Each bursary provides funding up to £10,000 distributed over the duration of the degree programme.
