As students in the Hereford area await their A level results this week, here is a reminder of NMITE’s flexible entry requirements

NMITE Opens Doors to Aspiring Engineers with Flexible Entry Requirements and ‘Build The Future’ Bursary

NMITE continues to challenge conventional higher education with its innovative approach to engineering education by offering flexible entry requirements and financial support for students in the form of bursaries, which are designed to make engineering education more accessible and inclusive.

Recognising that talent and potential don’t always follow traditional academic paths, NMITE’s clearing process is quick and simple and based on getting to know the applicant more than their exam results. Applications are considered on an individual basis to identify the qualities that will create a successful learner. Curiosity, determination, grit and interpersonal skills are equally as important to us as academic track record. The university has always encouraged more applications from people from less well-off backgrounds uses bursaries and scholarships to remove at least some of the financial barriers talented young people face.

James Newby, President and CEO of NMITE comments:

“For all the talk of opportunity, higher education in England remains a system of sharp geographic divides. In London, 54 per cent of young people go to university. In Herefordshire, the figure is just 26 per cent. Among those growing up in Herefordshire on free school meals, it falls to 12 per cent, the lowest in the country.

Our Clearing process is quick and simple and based on getting to know the applicant more than their exam results. Applications are considered on an individual basis to identify the qualities that will create a successful learner. Curiosity, determination, grit and interpersonal skills are equally as important to us as academic track record.”

NMITE’s  ‘Build the future’ bursary is part of NMITE’s mission to build a more diverse and representative engineering workforce and offers eligible students £3,000 to support living costs and learning materials and is designed to recognise and support talented who demonstrate strong academic progress and a clear commitment to completing the full three-year programme https://nmite.ac.uk/fees-and-finances#bursaries
