New Hereford Bursaries to Open Doors to NMITE’s Groundbreaking Autonomous Robotics Degree
The New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE) has today announced a new package of bursaries: the Autonomous Futures Bursary and the Hereford Bursary.
The bursaries are designed to remove financial barriers for people across Herefordshire, whether school leavers or career changers, who want to access a range of engineering and construction degrees, with particular focus on NMITE’s new pioneering Autonomous Robotics MEng degree.
The Autonomous Futures Bursary will support those with a place on the pioneering Autonomous Robotics MEng degree, which welcomes its first intake in September.
Expressions of interest are now open for the first cohort of this groundbreaking new programme. Prospective students are encouraged to register early interest and explore eligibility for bursary support.
Developed in collaboration with the British Army, the Autonomous Robotics MEng degree will equip students with the advanced skills needed to work with autonomous systems and robotics across defence, logistics, manufacturing and beyond.
The new Hereford Bursary is designed to support locals from Herefordshire who may otherwise face barriers to accessing higher education. It is available to those pursuing undergraduate degrees in Engineering or Construction Management at NMITE and is also open to those who want to apply for the Autonomous Robotics MEng degree.
These new bursaries ensure that local talent is not locked out of these opportunities which deliver a new range of skills to those who are looking to study at the start of their careers or want to have a career change.

The funding has been provided by local donors committed to widening access to high-value technical education and supporting regional opportunities.
