Head of Quality Assurance

Emma is the Head of Quality Assurance at NMITE where she is responsible for oversight of the implementation and development of quality assurance processes, the academic regulatory framework, compliance reporting, governance and the maintenance of academic standards.

Emma is an experienced higher education quality assurance and curriculum development professional, with a broad range of experience working across all levels of education, particularly post-compulsory and early years education. Emma has expertise in supporting academic teams with curriculum development, developing and reviewing quality assurance processes, managing and delivering staff development programmes and supporting enhancement initiatives in education.

Emma’s recent external activity include membership of the QAA working group writing guidance for one of the themes of the new UK Quality Code, being joint lead of a QAA funded enhancement project entitled “When Quality Assurance meets Innovation in Higher Education” and presentations at various conferences including the QAA Quality Insights Conference, Association of National Teaching Fellows Conference 2023, Conference on Block Delivery at De Montfort University ad QAA Specialist and Independent HE Policy and Practice Network.

Emma’s extensive background in quality assurance and educational support, combined with her dedication to maintaining high standards, positions her as a key leader in driving quality and excellence at NMITE.
