Joseph Oyekale

Associate Professor

Joseph Oyekale is an esteemed Associate Professor at NMITE, specialising in Mechanical Engineering. With a distinguished academic background, he earned his B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees with first-class honours and distinction from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH). His extensive research experience includes earning a Ph.D. and Doctor Europaeus in Industrial Engineering through international collaborations with the University of Cagliari and the University of Bayreuth. Joseph’s core research interests lie in the conceptual development and optimisation of systems and materials for sustainable energy and the built environment, with a focus on integrating artificial intelligence techniques.

Prior to joining NMITE, Joseph served through the ranks up to Associate Professor at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun, Nigeria, and was recognised for his impactful research and teaching in thermo-fluid and energy engineering. His recent academic fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) further enriched his expertise, bringing cutting-edge pedagogical approaches to NMITE. Joseph’s commitment to advancing engineering education and research is evident in his numerous publications and active contributions to the field, as well as his dedication to mentoring students and driving innovative solutions for energy sustainability.
