Clearing 2025 is officially open, and you've probably got questions. We've put together a helpful guide to help you make sense of all things Clearing!

There’s a lot of noise around Clearing – but at NMITE, we keep things simple and transparent. While others might do things differently, our focus is on clarity, flexibility and opportunity.

We’re proud to welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds to our engineering and technology degrees. After all, solving real-world problems takes people with diverse perspectives and experiences.

At NMITE, entry requirements remain flexible for Clearing 2025. Our hands-on, employer-engaged degrees are designed to teach you what you need to know – even if you haven’t studied Maths or Physics at A-level.

Put simply – we’ll teach you what you need to know, and how to apply it – so you graduate ready for the world of work.

What is clearing

Clearing is your chance to apply for a university place if you haven’t secured one yet.

It opened on 5 July 2025 and runs until the end of September. Whether you’ve missed your offer conditions, changed your mind, or are applying for the first time – Clearing is a flexible route into university.

Top tip: Be prepared. Know your target grades, explore your options in advance, and consider a back-up plan – like one of our Foundation Year pathways.

Who can apply

Clearing gives you the chance to apply if you’ve missed the main university deadlines.

While NMITE accepts direct applications year-round, you might apply through Clearing if:

  • You’ve applied via UCAS but don’t hold any offers
  • You haven’t applied to university yet
  • You didn’t meet your firm or insurance offer on results day
  • You’ve met your offer but changed your mins
